Do it yourself: African Map Sweatshirt Tutoral

What’s up everyone! Hope you are doing great. Today on my YouTube channel(style with ufuoma omoluru) I get to show you a sassy, trendy sweat shirt designed with African print for everyday wardrobe outfit!

To make this beautiful African map design Sweatshirt you will need a sweat shirt but you can also use a tshirt, ankara fabric cut outs or pieces to make the patch work, pins ,a pair of scissors, lining, tracing paper and a tape.

Each piece of cut out I used to make the fabric to use for the map was 4.5 inches square.

You will need to print out a copy of the map using your printer.
To get a bigger map you need A3 printer but if you don’t have one like me all you need to do is print the map out , trace it on a cutting paper or tracing paper and enlarge following the trace you made. Next place om the fabric and cut.

Stitch on a lining and turn inside out, then give a good press.

Lastly, place on the sweat shirt and sew.

This week in my studio I decided to create something simple sassy and very flattering.

It’s flattering because it suits all body shape and sizes no matter your age !

When going for a dress you should have all these aforementioned factors in mind… yes because you should be dictating your style not the outfit😅.

Have fun…! And don’t forget to share your projects with us😉

Say No to boring Clothes!

It’s funny but many times we just stop paying attention to what we wear!

It shouldn’t be so hard … should it?

Here are my 5 tips for looking your best

1: Wear vibrant Colors: I don’t mean blinding Colors 😂. Just Colors that aren’t so dull and make you look older or depressed. Go for burnt orange, fuchsia pink, pale pink, emerald green, peach, colbalt etc. You can’t go wrong with these Colors!

2: Go for classic pieces that don’t go in and out of style like wrap dresses, shift dresses, straight leg pants and tunics.

3: Invest in good quality clothes, they don’t always have to be designers clothing, I personally don’t do labels😅. Buy clothes that don’t smell cheap. Looks out for great sales and sometimes patronise charity shops. You don’t have to break a bank to look fab😉

4: Know your body type. Are you apple, pear, rectangle or hourglass figure? Understanding this basic concept goes a long way in your wearing what looks great on you. You always need to flatter your assets!

5: Try new things! Don’t be stereotyped when It comes to your style. Be adventurous, try new styles, go out of your comfort zone and you will be pleasantly surprised, there is a whole new world of adventure waiting to be discovered!

We all love a pop of Color

Yesterday was a lovely day as I exhibited some of my handmade craft at the Salisbury market fair.

Lots of sunshine and plenty to eat ,drink and buy!

Met lovely people who were fascinated by the Color display in my stall.

I love Colors, they make me happy and I love sharing the burst of Colors from African print designs.

I had on display assorted stuffs from clothing, turbans, necklaces, headbands, cushions, face masks to tote bags and lots more all made from Ankara fabric!
